MEAT PACK AFTERCARE

(For people that have adhesive allergies, or skin sensitivities)

Step 1:     Wear the bandage overnight. The meat packs will absorb most of the blood and plasma fluid.

The idea with this method is that even though plasma helps heal your tattoo, plasma also creates scabs, which can sometimes pull colors out of your tattoo. We want the tattoo to peel like a sunburn and to avoid scab build up.

Step 2:    In the morning wash your hands with thoroughly with warm water and anti-bacterial soap before removing the bandage. Do not rewrap your tattoo.

Step 3:    Wash your tattoo gently with warm water and either antibacterial soap or fragrance-free soap. If your tattoo covers a large portion of your body, or is in a hard-to-reach area, clean it in the shower. Do not do long shower or take a bath, you can waterboard your tattoo.

Step 3:    Pat your tattoo dry with paper towel, do not use a regular towel to dry your tattoo. Towels can harbor bacteria. Let your tattoo air dry a bit.

Step 4:    Wash your hands each time before putting a thin layer of either an ointment or lotion on your tattoo.

Step 5:    When you put on your first application of moisturizer, and before you have to put on your second application of moisturizer, give your tattoo another wash and let it air dry before the second application, then don’t wash your tattoo anymore. Continue to moisturize it. When showering, avoid direct water contact on the tattoo. Its ok if it gets a little wet. Don’t get it soaked.

Ointment should be 3-4 times since they are a little thicker and keeps your skin moisturized longer, lotions should be 4-5 times a day. If you have any scabs or dead skin, do not pick at them. Let them natural fall off. Do not over moisturize to the point its swimming, especially if you have scabs, otherwise you can reopen the skin and can create color loss and or infections.

Lotions/Ointments I recommend:

Warning: the listings below can result to color loss, rough heals, and or infections.

Do not do any of the following:

-        Do not scratch your tattoo if it is itching. You can reopen the skin that way and or can cause and infection as its healing. Instead, lightly pat the tattoo with clean hands to help with the itch.
Itching indicates the skin is healing.

-        Do not pick or peel your tattoo. Let the scabs and or dead skin peal off on their own.

-        Do not wear tight clothing on your tattoo. Your tattoo needs to breathe and tight clothing can irritate it and or have color loss. This includes bra straps rubbing on your tattoo. Wear a sports bra instead.

-        Do not have long sun exposure or go tanning while your tattoo is healing.

-        Do not go swimming on with your fresh tattoo in any body of water. Your tattoo will get infected and or dry out especially if the water is chlorinated.

-        Do not use body wash, Neosporin, or hydrogen peroxide to clean your tattoo.

-        Do not let your cats, dogs or pets lick your tattoo. They eat shit and lick their balls. You do not want that on your fresh tattoo.

-        Do not go working out with a fresh tattoo, sweat and having your tattoo touch unsanitary equipment or furniture can infect your tattoo.

-        Do not slap or have your friends slap your fresh tattoo.

-        Do not lean your healing tattoo on public furniture like bar tables. You don’t what’s lurking on them.
